ABOUT

SEC—01

I work in the layer nobody sees — networks, protocols, the systems everything else quietly depends on. Telecommunications and computer engineering, with security as the lens.

NOW
MSc AT ISCTE · MINOR IN CYBERSECURITY
ETHOS

Three years of it: signals and electromagnetism at one end, operating systems and databases at the other, and the network sitting in the middle holding both together. I finished with the second-highest average of my year and went straight into the MSc with a minor in Cybersecurity. What holds my attention is that middle layer — how packets actually move, where trust is assumed, and what a system does when asked to survive something it was never designed for.

2026 — 2028

MSc Telecommunications and Computer Engineering

ISCTE — INSTITUTO UNIVERSITÁRIO DE LISBOA · MINOR IN CYBERSECURITY

In progress. Applying to teach as a lab monitor alongside it, and to sit the Cisco CCNA through the ISCTE networking academy.

Summer School — Future AIoT

UESTC · CHENGDU, CHINA · TWO WEEKS

Two weeks inside a different engineering culture. It is also where a professor put my name forward for teaching back home — the kind of thing that only happens because you went.

2023 — 2026

BSc Telecommunications and Computer Engineering

ISCTE — INSTITUTO UNIVERSITÁRIO DE LISBOA

Finished at 15/20 — the second-highest average of my year.

WHAT I HAVE ACTUALLY BUILT

01

This site

2026 · PERSONAL · ~9K LINES, ONE FILE, NO BUILD STEP

A scroll-driven portfolio where the opening is a 3D dragonfly rendered entirely as text characters — the scene goes to a render target, and a fragment shader replaces every cell with a glyph chosen by brightness from an atlas baked 1:1 with the device pixel.

The parts worth talking about are the ones that went wrong first. The glyph atlas was originally baked at 64px and drawn at 6px, and that 10× minification silently ate the thin strokes — so pushing more cells toward the bright end of the ramp produced less ink on screen. The whole opening had to land in exactly 26 wheel notches, which meant deriving the page layout from that number rather than the other way round. And three.js turned out to skip any non-indexed geometry whose position attribute is not literally called position: no error, no draw call, blank screen.

Enterprise network, end to end

ISCTE · CISCO PACKET TRACER

A full corporate topology designed and built from an address plan upward: subnetting, VLAN segmentation, inter-VLAN routing, addressing services and access control between segments — the layer where a network stops being a diagram and starts having to actually carry traffic.

Telecommunications Systems Design

ISCTE · THIRD YEAR · CAPSTONE PROJECT

The final-year project of the degree, where the separate threads — transmission, modulation and coding, network architecture — are put together into one system that has to work as a whole rather than as five subjects that happen to share a timetable.

05.1

NETWORKS

Routing and switching, addressing, the protocol stack from the wire upward. Working toward CCNA.

05.2

CYBERSECURITY

The MSc minor. Where trust is assumed, and what it costs when the assumption is wrong.

05.3

TELECOM

Signals, modulation, transmission. The physical truth under every abstraction above it.

05.4

CLOUD

Distributed systems and the infrastructure they actually run on, rather than the diagram of it.

05.5

AI & IoT

Artificial Intelligence in the second year, then two weeks at UESTC on where it goes next: intelligence pushed to the edge, on devices with no room to spare.
